Our American Madness

a novel

After Hillary Clinton’s win in the 2016 presidential election, the resulting social turmoil profoundly impacts the lives of four ordinary Americans, each trying to cope with the viral insanity of a country tearing itself apart.

Our American Madness is a story that deals with the unholy three-way between religion, guns, and politics and how this volatile mix intersects with the political and cultural divisions of our time. It is about the shaping of insular realities and the accompanying distortions of truth and disintegration of trust; about how extremism has infected the ideals of America; and ultimately, it is about a country of overwhelmed people staring into the darkness of the widening chasm that divides us and trying to stay sane amid a headlong rush toward possible civil war.

The novel is both speculative fiction and wry social satire. Set in an alternate reality from our recent history, it tells a story of average people in the real America of today - where we are and where we’re going. It is a compelling argument for changing the trajectory.
